Air Monitoring
Automatic Weather Stations
Jan 01 2000
This event was for the 15th Congress of the World Meteorological Organization (specialized agency of the UNO) which takes place every four years and which has brought together more than one hundred and sixty Directors of National Meteorological Services accompanied by their technical staff.
Degreane Horizon (France) has participated for the sixth consecutive time, presenting its equipment and systems at the âFrench Pavillonâ covering a surface of more than 150 square meters.
During the three days of this exhibition, we were able to measure the progress which has been made since 1987. Indeed, at that time METEO FRANCE had chosen our MIRIA automatic weather stations range for the automation of their observation network, and we had exhibited our material for the very first time. We have been very pleased to see all the interest shown thanks to the knowhow of DEGREANE HORIZON which has been capitalized on during the last twenty years in the field of meteorological engineering.
We can quote the brand new XARIA300 automatic weather station in the field of data acquisition, as well as the complete range of aeronautical sensors for weather observation purposes , the TR30 transmissometer, the ALC30 laser ceilometer, the new generation of DF320 forward scatter sensors, these are all parts of the strategic equipment for the SIOMA Integrated Runway Meteorological Observation Systems, installed in more than four hundred airports worldwide. In the field of innovative sensors which can reinforce diagnosis in certain present time critical situations, we can name the new SOLIA300 âstate of the groundâ sensor. Particular interest has been shown by our visitors in our range of PCL1300 wind profilers, which have been extremely successful for 10 years thanks to different National Meteorological Services (MeteoSwiss, Korean Met Administration being the most recent contracts signed) and which make DEGREANE HORIZON one of the leaders in this domain in the world.
